Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.
I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.
Workstation
Custom PC - Ryzen 3900X, 32GB RAM, 5TB SSD Space, RTX 3070
I was forced to work with a Macbook at onvista, but since I left there I've been working with my personal machine and can now also run two Docker instances at the same time.
Gigabyte M28U and two additional 1080p displays
Some say that more than one monitor is unnecessary. I see it differently, because I can test websites on 1080p, 1440p, 2160p and with matte as well as glossy display. And you can have three times as many windows open, which also has its advantages.
Glorious GMMK2 96%
Probably one of the best keyboards on the market. I have unlubricated Lynx switches and the Nebula keycaps. Add the Nebula coiled cable and voilà, the keyboard costs more than my monthly car payment.
Autonomous ErgoChair Pro
I sit in the chair for more than 10 hours a day. Actually, the only thing missing is a massage function.
Development tools
VS Code
Best Code Editor EU West
Windows Terminal
The best shell interface since sliced bread.
Notion
My all-in-one notes tool. I use it to take notes, build pen & paper worlds, and even planned my honeymoon with it.
Design
Affinity Suite
Can do everything important that Adobe CC Suite can do, only cheaper and more performant.
Figma
Cool tool for UI/UX collaboration, and then also web-based. The only thing missing is an iPad app.
